21 months of remission...
Thankfully, Trapper had 21 months of remission from lymphoma and we have appreciated every single day. Average remission time for his treatment protocol was 10 months, so in typical Trapper fashion, he blew away the odds. He has cheated death more times than I can count!
Unfortunately, for the last few months Trapper has been battling stomach issues (I promised Trapper that I wouldn't post details);D I also noticed about a month ago that Trapper's lymph nodes were swollen, so I took him to the vet. She wasn't concerned, so we waited a few more weeks. Two days ago I took Trapper back--he just didn't seem right to me. An abdominal ultrasound was normal, but the aspiration of his lymph nodes came back positive for lymphoma.
So, today we began chemo treatment again. Stats are the same as last time--if Trapper goes into complete remission again, the average remission time is 10 months. However, because it's his second treatment, the likelihood of him achieving complete remission goes from 80% to 60%. I don't think Trapper much cares about statistics, though. I think he just knows how to live :)
Thanks for your support....
